Home to Los Angeles’s biggest high-end watch, diamond and jewelry specialists, Stein Diamonds needed an updated website that aims to mimic showroom purchases in an eCommerce environment and allows customers to build their own engagement rings.

Project Highlights + Recommendations

Diamond Builder
By including a diamond builder on the site, customers can cut out time spent browsing around and build the exact ring they want. This is especially helpful to men looking for the perfect engagement ring based on provided details or pictures their significant other has shown them.

This workflow supports two important shopping patterns, a customer can either “Start with a Diamond” or “Start with a Setting.”

Stud Builder
Similar to the Diamond Builder, the stud builder is a guided sales workflow so customers can build the studs they want instead of searching through the product catalog.

Diamond Picker
This section allows customers to begin their search for a product by selecting a diamond cut. When viewing pictures of diamonds online, they all look similar in terms of clarity and color. To take this a step further and in an effort to activate the “wow” factor from customers, we implemented a rotating 360 degree view of each diamond that shows light reflecting off the different pavilions.

Product Education
Providing as much information and education as possible on diamonds and jewelry, helps customers feel more confident in their decisions when purchasing a product especially products that are at a higher price point. Providing information around how to clean and care for jewelry is beneficial to the user in helping them make sure their jewelry stays looking new and lasts forever.

What I Enjoyed About This Project

Going beyond the conversion

While carrying out the usual processes for a project, the focus was not only put on the website, the products and the approaches but also on the expectations after the purchase.
